China Natural Gas asks court to dismiss involuntary Chapter 11 case

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 8 - China Natural Gas, Inc. asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to dismiss the involuntary Chapter 11 case filed against it, citing "insufficient service of process," according to a March 8 court filing.

As previously reported, the case was filed by Abax Lotus Ltd., Abax Nai Xin A Ltd. and Lake Street Fund LP.

In the motion, the company said the petitioning creditors did not properly serve the involuntary debtor summons related to the filing.

A hearing is scheduled for April 11.

Based in Xi'an, China, China Natural Gas is a provider of pipeline natural gas for industrial, commercial and residential use and compressed natural gas for vehicular fuel. The involuntary Chapter 11 case was filed on Feb. 8 under case number 13-10419.
