S&P says AES Gener off negative watch

Standard & Poor's said that it affirmed its BBB- ratings on AES Gener SA and removed the ratings from CreditWatch negative.

The outlook is negative.

S&P said that Gener's Campiche plant is still suspended, but the company's good cash flow and robust liquidity partially mitigate the negative effects of the delay in the development of the project.

The agency said that future ratings actions will depend on how volatile the company's cash flow is, based on the mismatch between Gener's efficient generation capacity and power sale contracts on the one hand and the progress of its power projects on the other.
