Moody's assigns Chevron U.S.A. notes Aa2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an Aa2 rating to Chevron U.S.A. Inc.'s proposed senior unsecured notes offering. These notes are guaranteed by Chevron Corp.

“The senior notes being issued by Chevron U.S.A. benefit from a full and unconditional guarantee from its parent, Chevron, and therefore have been rated Aa2, which is consistent with Chevron's long-term issuer and senior notes ratings,” Moody’s said in a press release.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of commercial paper.

“This issuance does not affect Chevron's Aa2 rating and stable outlook, Moody’s said.
