Colombia's Avianca cancels tender offer, consent solicitation for notes due 2011

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, March 3 - Aerovias del Continente Americano SA (Avianca) terminated its cash tender offer to repurchase up to $11,732,000 of its outstanding dollar-denominated notes due 2011 and the accompanying consent solicitation, according to a company news release.

The conditions of the offer allowed Avianca to terminate the offer if a majority of the noteholders had not tendered by Friday, the expiration date.

The company said it will return all tendered notes as soon as practicable.

Avianca, formerly known as Aerovias Nacionales de Colombia SA, is an airline based in Bogota, Colombia.
