CHC Group gets nod to extend exclusive plan period through March 31

Pittsburgh, Feb. 17 – CHC Group Ltd.’s request for an extension through March 31 of the exclusive period during which only the company can file a Chapter 11 plan was granted Friday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

CHC said it launched solicitation of its previously filed plan and disclosure statement when the court approved the company’s entry into a support agreement on Dec. 20.

“The debtors are committed to moving quickly through the confirmation process, with the goal of emerging from Chapter 11 as soon as the end of February,” the motion said.

However, CHC said it was uncertain whether the debtors would be able to have a final confirmation order entered before the expiration of their exclusive filing period on Feb. 17.

Based in Richmond, B.C., CHC is a commercial helicopter operator. It filed for Chapter 11 on May 5, 2016 under case number 16-31854.
