S&P rates Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital, N.C., bonds AA-

Standard & Poor's said it assigned an AA- standard long-term rating to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority, N.C.'s $308 million series 2008A revenue refunding bonds. The agency also affirmed its AA- long-term rating on the authority's previously issued debt.

The outlook is stable.

Management has restructured or plans to restructure $968.8 million in auction- and variable-rate securities. The series 2008A bonds will be used to refund the series 1996B, 1996C, 1996D, 2003B, 2005E and 2007I bonds scheduled for June 5.
