Aegis Mortgage granted two-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 9 - Aegis Mortgage Corp. has been granted a two-month extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Aug. 7 from June 8 and the solicitation period to Oct. 6 from Aug. 7.

Aegis said that since the company filed for bankruptcy, its employees have directed their efforts toward liquidation of the company's assets and addressing the going-forward strategy with key constituents, including the official committee of unsecured creditors. The extra time is needed to formulate a plan of liquidation.

Aegis Mortgage, a Houston-based mortgage production franchise, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 13, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-11119.
