Aegis Mortgage's exclusive plan-filing period extended to April 13

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 16 - Aegis Mortgage Corp. obtained a 100-day extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Feb. 13 from Nov. 5 and the solicitation period to April 13 from Jan. 5.

As previously reported, Aegis filed a liquidation plan and related disclosure statement in October.

However, the company said it still needs more time to address open issues in its bankruptcy case and to work with its official committee of unsecured creditors to develop a consensual plan.

Aegis Mortgage, a Houston-based mortgage production franchise, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 13, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-11119.
