Aegis Mortgage granted three-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 15 - Aegis Mortgage Corp. was granted a fourth extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Nov. 5 from Aug. 7 and the solicitation period to Jan. 5 from Oct. 6.

Aegis said it has liquidated its assets, including $55 million of mortgage loans, and transferred its mortgage servicing rights, and now it is working with its official committee of unsecured creditors to resolve the open issues in its bankruptcy case.

Aegis Mortgage, a Houston-based mortgage production franchise, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 13, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-11119.
