Moody’s: Comcast, CBS unaffected

Moody's Investors Service said that Comcast Corp.’s A3 senior unsecured rating and stable outlook and CBS Corp.’s Baa2 senior unsecured rating and stable outlook will not be impacted by their recently announced deal with the National Football League to broadcast Thursday Night Football in 2016 and 2017.

Under the new agreement, CBS's CBS broadcast network and Comcast's NBC broadcast network will each broadcast five Thursday night NFL games in 2016 and 2017, while all the games will continue to be simulcast on the NFL network. CBS and NBC networks will bear production costs for games aired on their respective networks and both will also contribute to productions costs for games aired exclusively on the NFL network.
