Prima Wawona seeks approval to sell properties for $122.7 million

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Feb. 13 – MVK FarmCo LLC (Prima Wawona) is seeking approval to sell some of its properties for about $122.7 million to several buyers, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company said it negotiated the private sales in consultation with its debtor-in-possession lenders.

The debtor said it believes the purchase price is the best available price for each property and does not believe the cost of running an additional auction process would increase the sale proceeds, especially in light of the year-long marketing process for all the debtors’ assets.

Prima Wawona is a Fresno, Calif.-based producer of stone fruit. The company filed bankruptcy on Oct. 13 under Chapter 11 case number 23-11721.
