Former iMedia Brands’ affiliation agreement with Comcast contested

Chicago, Nov. 1 – Legacy IMBDS, Inc., formerly known as iMedia Brands, Inc., is being asked to pay the $2 million past due on an affiliation agreement with Comcast Media, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The $2 million-per-month contract covers September and October’s distribution of the ShopHQ signal.

The contract has not been canceled and Comcast is now seeking payment and cancellation of the contract going forward. Comcast has continued the signal under the automatic stay.

A $2 million payment was also due on Nov. 1.

The debtor has countered by asking the court for permission to pay a reduced amount as an administrative claim.

iMedia Brands is an interactive media company based in Eden Prairie, Minn. The company filed bankruptcy on June 28 under Chapter 11 case number 23-10852.
