AdvisorShares announces launch of its Global Alpha and Beta ETF

San Diego, Jan. 31 - AdvisorShares Trust announced the launch of the AdvisorShares Global Alpha and Beta ETF, according to an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The new ETF, a "fund of funds," seeks long-term capital growth by investing primarily in other exchange-traded funds, common stock of issuers of any capitalization range and American Depositary Receipts that provide exposure to global equity markets and meet selection criteria established by Your Source Financial, plc, the fund's subadviser.

Your Source will consider two indicators in making investment decisions: the 200-day moving average of the S&P 500 index and an inverted yield curve. If the index is below its 200-day moving average or if the yield curve is inverted, the subadviser will maintain a defensive position in the portfolio.

Roger Nusbaum will be the portfolio manager.

The fund will have no shareholder fees. Management fees will be 1%. Including other fees and expenses and taking into account the adviser's one-year fee waiver and/or expense reimbursement agreement, total annual fund operating expenses for the first year are expected to be 1.4%.

The fund will trade on the NYSE Arca under the symbol "RRGR."

The fund's investment adviser is Bethesday, Md.-based AdvisorShares Investments, LLC.
