Holiday Inn Express Washington D.C. files Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Olympia, Wash., Feb. 21 – Birchington, LLC, doing business as Holiday Inn Express Washington D.C. Downtown, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia on Monday.

In its petition, the company listed one to 49 creditors, $100,001 to $500,000 in assets and $50 million to $100 million in liabilities.

Its largest unsecured creditors are Kinsley Construction, Inc., based in York, Pa., with a $5.02 million claim, and Six Continents Hotel, Inc., based in Atlanta, with a $2.5 million claim.

The company is represented by the Burns Law Firm, LLC.

The Washington, D.C.-based hotel owner filed bankruptcy under Chapter 11 case number 23-00057.
