Caraustar still working to meet conditions for leaving Chapter 11

By Alice Popovici

New York, Aug. 20 - Caraustar Industries, Inc. missed its previously announced date to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and a company spokesperson said it is "working to satisfy all the contingencies."

The company had set Wednesday as the target date to exit bankruptcy, according to a T-3 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As previously reported, the company's plan of reorganization was confirmed on Aug. 4 by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Caraustar, an Austell, Ga.-based manufacturer of recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products, filed for bankruptcy on May 31. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-73830.
