By Tali Rackner

Norfolk, Va., March 30 – Cantor Fitzgerald Europe announced the expansion of its emerging markets debt capital markets sales and trading team with the appointments of Dray Simpson, Alex Yulman and Michael Barfoot as managing directors, according to a press release.

“I would like to welcome Dray, Alex and Michael to Cantor. Their appointments demonstrate our long-term focus on expanding our global distribution platform and providing deep market intelligence and unparalleled services to clients,” chief executive officer Shawn P. Matthews said in the release.

“Their extensive track records and network of relationships will make an impact on the emerging markets team, and help the team provide best-in-class services product, strategy and execution on a global level.”

Prior to joining Cantor, Simpson held senior positions in emerging markets at Deutsche Bank, Alcantara Asset Management and Dragon Capital, where he built the fixed-income trading business, the release said.

Yulman was previously at the emerging markets credit trading desk at Morgan Stanley, and had senior positions at Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO.

Barfoot was previously director at BNP Paribas, where he traded Latin American sovereign credits and served as Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Simpson will be based in London, and Yulman and Barfoot will be based in New York. They will report to Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, co-heads of the debt capital markets’ emerging markets division.

Cantor Fitzgerald is a New York-based financial services firm.
