Black Diamond-led investors building stake in Cano Petroleum

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 9 - Investors led by Black Diamond Offshore Ltd. and Carlson Capital, LP bought 469,418 shares of Cano Petroleum, Inc. between Aug. 22 and Sept. 5 at prices from $2.84 to $3.28 each, it was reported in a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The investors beneficially own 3,324,218 shares, or 7.2%, of the Fort Worth, Texas-based oil and natural gas company.

On Aug. 25, Black Diamond and Carlson Capital reported the purchase of 2,854,800 Cano Petroleum shares and an initial 6.2% stake in the company.
