Monaco Coach: U.S. trustee asks court to reopen two more debtor cases
By Sarah Lizee
Olympia, Wash., Aug. 27 – The U.S. trustee overseeing Monaco Coach Corp.’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy case has asked the court to reopen debtors Port of the Isles Motorcoach Resort, Inc. and La Quinta Motorcoach Resorts, Inc.’s bankruptcy cases, according to a motion filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
Regions 3 and 9 U.S. trustee Andrew R. Vara is also seeking appointment of a Chapter 7 trustee to the cases.
As previously reported, debtor Outdoor Resorts of Las Vegas, Inc.’s case was reopened by the court in April. Vara had asked the court to reopen the case so that George L. Miller may be reappointed as the Chapter 7 trustee and, among other things, reallocate funds to Outdoor Resorts from Monaco Coach.
Miller was appointed as Chapter 7 trustee on April 20.
Miller had filed NDRs in a number of the debtors’ Chapter 7 cases, including Outdoor Resorts’ case, in error as there were funds on deposit in Monaco Coach’s case that actually belonged to some of the other Chapter 7 debtors.
The U.S. trustee moved to reopen the Chapter 7 cases of Naples Motorcoach Resort Inc. and Signature Resorts of Michigan Inc. Those cases were reopened on Jan. 26.
Monaco Coach is a Coburg, Ore.-based designer, manufacturer and seller of motor coaches and towable recreational vehicles. The company filed for bankruptcy on March 5, 2009. The conversion to Chapter 7 occurred on June 29, 2011. The company’s Chapter 11 case number is 09-10750.
