Entrust Energy receives extension of exclusive plan filing period

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Aug. 17 – Entrust Energy, Inc.’s exclusive period to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan was extended to Sept. 27, according to an order filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

In addition, if the company files a plan by Sept. 27, the exclusive plan filing period will be further extended through Nov. 29.

The company said in its motion that since the petition date, the debtors have been working with their advisers to liquidate assets of the respective estates.

The debtors and their advisers have also spent significant time reviewing the structure of the debtors, intercompany transactions, and the make-up of the debtors’ respective creditor bodies to determine the most efficient and equitable structure of the plan, including whether it is appropriate to seek consolidation of any of the debtors’ estates.

Entrust Energy is a Houston-based retail power provider. The company filed bankruptcy on March 30 under Chapter 11 case number 21-31070.
