Caesars unit gets court authorization of exclusivity period extension

By Mark Reccek

Bethlehem, Pa., Oct. 22 – Caesars Entertainment Corp. subsidiary Caesars Entertainment Operating Co., Inc. (CEOC) received court approval to extend the exclusive periods for filing a Chapter 11 plan of reorganization and soliciting votes on the plan, according to an order issued Wednesday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The company’s exclusive filing period was extended through March 15 and its solicitation period through May 15, 2016.

As previously reported, CEOC said the exclusivity extension will provide the company more time to proceed with the amended plan while it seeks to build additional consensus.

Caesars is a Las Vegas-based casino-entertainment company that filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 15, 2015 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-01145.
