Stellantis, Guangzhou Automobile to put joint venture into bankruptcy

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 31 – Stellantis NV and China’s Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. have agreed to put their joint venture GAC-FCA into bankruptcy, according to a press release from Stellantis.

Stellantis said it fully impaired the value of its investment in the GAC-FCA JV and other related assets in its first-half 2022 financial results.

The joint venture produces Jeep vehicles in China.

Amsterdam-based Stellantis, one of the largest automakers and mobility providers, said it will continue to provide services to existing and future Jeep customers in China.
