By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., March 16 – King Mountain Tobacco Co., Inc.’s hearing on confirmation of its Chapter 11 plan has been scheduled for May 3, according to a minute entry filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Washington.

The company said at a monthly status conference that it is in the final stages of drafting a consensual third amended plan.

As previously reported, the company had received court approval of a disclosure statement in March 2021. The statement was later amended and approved again in June 2021. The company said in January that it was working on another amended plan and disclosure statement.

King Mountain Tobacco is a White Swan, Wash.-based tobacco manufacturer owned and operated by citizens of the Yakama Nation. The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sept. 25, 2020 under case number 20-01808.
