Fitch downgrades Americanas

Fitch Ratings said it downgraded Americanas SA's long-term foreign-currency and local-currency issuer default ratings to D from C, its long-term national scale rating to D(bra) from C(bra), as well as the rating of its unsecured debentures to D(bra) from C(bra). The agency affirmed the rating of the senior unsecured global notes issued by its wholly owned subsidiaries JSM Global Sarl and B2W Digital Lux Sarl at C, revising the recovery rating to RR5 from RR4.

Americanas' announced on Thursday, it petitioned for bankruptcy protection, which triggered the downgrade, Fitch said.
