Fitch assigns BBB+ to Aon notes

Fitch Ratings said it assigned issue-level ratings of BBB+ to the new senior unsecured note issuances by Aon Corp. and Aon Global Holdings plc.

“The senior notes will be issued by Aon Corp. and Aon Global Holdings plc, with guarantees from Aon plc and Aon Global Ltd. Fitch's issuer default ratings (IDRs) for each of the aforementioned entities remains at BBB+,” the agency said in a press release.

Fitch said it believes new notes provide added financial flexibility following the recent $1 billion merger termination fee paid to Willis Towers Watson plc.

Proceeds are expected to be used for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.
