Fitch rates Brooklyn Union notes BBB+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a BBB+ rating to the Brooklyn Union Gas Co.'s issuance of senior unsecured notes.

Brooklyn Union’s senior unsecured rating has been at BBB+ since Dec. 23, when the agency downgraded it.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including refinancing upcoming long-term debt maturities.

The outlook is stable.
