Boy Scouts OK’d to sell $13.5 million warehouse, distribution center

Olympia, Wash., April 22 – Boy Scouts of America (BSA) received court approval to sell a warehouse and distribution center located in North Carolina for $13.5 million, according to court documents filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
As previously reported, BSA is seeking to lease back the property for two years at an annual base rent of $687,834 for the first year, and $709,233 for the second year.
Edgewater Industrial, LLC is the purchaser.
The proceeds will be used to help fund sexual abuse claims under the BSA’s Chapter 11 plan.
Boy Scouts of America is based in Irving, Tex. It filed bankruptcy on Feb. 17, 2020 under Chapter 11 case number 20-10343.
