Earth Fare wins final OK to conduct going-out-of-business sales

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 26 – Earth Fare, Inc. obtained final court approval to conduct going-out-of-business sales, according to an order filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District a Delaware.

Earth Fare said earlier this month that all employees had been notified of the impending closure of the company’s stores and corporate office.

A joint venture comprised of Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, LLC and Hilco Merchant Resources, LLC will serve as the going-out-of-business sale consultant.

The sales were expected to begin on Feb. 3 and will run through Feb. 29.

The consultant will receive a base fee of 1% of gross proceeds.

Earth Fare is an Asheville, N.C.-based specialty natural and organic grocery store and full-service supermarket. The company filed bankruptcy on Feb. 4 under Chapter 11 case number 20-10256.
