S&P rates Broadcom, notes BBB+

Standard & Poor's said it assigned its BBB+ corporate credit rating to Broadcom Corp. while it also assigned its BBB+ issue rating to the company's senior unsecured notes.

The outlook is positive.

"We expect Broadcom will maintain a minimal financial risk profile, characterized by a conservative financial policy and a strong liquidity position as a buffer to industry volatility," said credit analyst Joseph Spence.

In addition, the agency said it expects the company's strong competitive position within the communications semiconductor industry to result in continued revenue and profitability growth, primarily reflecting the strong secular trends in the wireless and broadband subsectors.
