S&P: British Airways up to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on British Airways plc to positive from stable.

At the same time, S&P affirmed its BB+ long-term corporate credit and BB- senior unsecured debt ratings on the group.

S&P said British Airways has made progress in improving operating performance and reducing net debt, which has contributed to a strengthening of the group's credit profile.

Despite a challenging trading environment, S&P said it expects the company's structural cost savings achieved and its ongoing initiatives to allow the group to maintain profitability and continue to improve the credit profile.
