Moody's rates British Airways pass-throughs Baa1, Ba1

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa1 rating to British Airways, plc's class A pass-through certificates, series 2013-1, and a Ba1 rating to its class B pass-through certificates. British Airways has a B1 corporate family rating, and its outlook is positive.

The agency said the ratings reflect its opinion of the high likelihood that the pass-through trustees can make timely payments of interest and the ultimate payment of the pool balances of the certificates on their final scheduled regular distribution dates.

The ratings also reflect Moody's opinion of the corporate credit quality of British Airways and the importance of the aircraft collateral to the company's long-term network strategy.
