UTEK subsidiary acquired by Advanced Refractive Technologies

Erie, Pa., April 11 - Advanced Glaucoma Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of UTEK Corp., was acquired by Advanced Refractive Technologies, Inc. in a tax-free stock-for-stock exchange according to a form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by UTEK.

Advanced Refractive issued 100,000 unregistered shares of series D convertible preferred stock to UTEK in exchange for the outstanding shares of Advanced Glaucoma on April 4.

Advanced Glaucoma holds the exclusive license to a patent-pending non-surgical treatment for reducing pressure build up in the eye using specific monoclonal antibodies.

UTEK is a technology transfer company based in Plant City, Fla.

Advanced Refractory Technologies is a supplier of advanced ceramic materials located in Buffalo, N.Y.
