Mayflower Communities names $61 million Prairie offer as winning bid

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 18 – Mayflower Communities, Inc. has named stalking horse bidder Prairie Landing Community, Inc. as the winning bidder for its assets, according to a notice filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

As previously reported, Prairie Landing has agreed to pay $61 million for the Mayflower assets.

The company said no qualified competing bids were received by the bid deadline. As a result, the auction scheduled for July 22 has been canceled.

The sale hearing will be held on July 24.

Mayflower Communities, an Addison, Texas-based provider of elder care and senior living facility services, filed bankruptcy on Jan. 30 under Chapter 11 case number 19-30283.
