Z Gallerie names Karat Home winning bidder for e-commerce assets

Olympia, Wash., Dec. 11 – DirectBuy Home Improvement, Inc., which does business as Z Gallerie, named Karat Home Inc. the winning bidder for its e-commerce assets following an auction held Thursday, according to a notice filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

The proposed purchase price is $7.2 million.

Z Gallerie Holdings, LLC was named backup bidder.

The company noted that following the auction, a dispute arose which the parties are in the process of resolving. The details were not given in the notice.

A sale hearing is set for Dec. 15.

Z Gallerie is a Gardena, Calif.-based furniture retailer. The company filed bankruptcy on Oct. 16 under Chapter 11 case number 23-19159.
