Boston Generating seeks additional time to file plan, solicit votes

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 22 - Boston Generating, LLC requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company wants to extend the exclusive plan-filing period to March 18 from Dec. 16 and the solicitation period to June 18 from Feb. 14.

Boston Generating said it needs additional time to resolve administrative and priority claims and close the sale of its assets - all of which are prerequisites to its plan confirmation.

A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 7.

Boston Generating, a Charlestown, Mass., power company, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 18. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-14417.
