Boscov's seeks more time to formulate liquidation plan

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 3 - Boscov's, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of liquidation and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to April 1 from Dec. 2 and the solicitation period to April 30 from 60 days before that date.

Boscov's said it needs more time to establish a claims bar date and formulate a liquidating plan and related disclosure statement "in light of the intense pace of the sale process in this case."

A hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18.

Boscov's, a Reading, Pa.-based regional department store chain, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 4. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-11637.
