VeroBlue asks court to close case to avoid further U.S. Trustee fees

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 14 – VeroBlue Farms USA, Inc. is asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Iowa to close its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case so it does not have to pay any more U.S. Trustee fees, according to a motion filed Wednesday.

VeroBlue said its amended plan of reorganization was confirmed on May 7, 2019. Although the plan confirmation order has been appealed, the company said no stay of the order has been imposed.

According to the motion, VeroBlue has fully performed all requirements of the plan.

“The only matters still pending are two appeals and two adversary proceedings,” the motion said. “An order closing the case will not affect the rights of any party with regard to the pending matters.”

VeroBlue Farms is based in Webster City, Iowa. It filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 21, 2018 under Chapter 11 case number 18-01297.
