Advanced Marketing looks to sell Indianapolis distribution center inventory

Pittsburgh, Sept. 12 - Advanced Marketing Services, Inc. plans to sell some of the inventory from its Indianapolis distribution center with the help of facility closing and inventory consultant Great American Group, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Both the inventory sale and the retention of Great American Group are subject to bankruptcy court approval.

As facility closing and inventory consultant, Great American will provide full-time supervisors to help with the sales; oversee the asset liquidation and disposal; assist with advertising, pricing and discounting of the assets; and reconcile all accounting information.

In addition, Great American will help the company solicit bids for the assets and hold auctions.

Advanced Marketing has requested a Sept. 26 hearing.

Advanced Marketing, a San Diego-based provider of customized merchandising, wholesaling and contract distribution services, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 29, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-11480.
