Advanced Marketing posts $311,192 operating loss for month ended April 27

Pittsburgh, July 25 - Advanced Marketing Services Inc. reported a $311,192 operating loss for the month ended April 27 on $4.42 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The numbers compare to a $6.40 million operating loss for the month ended March 30 on $5.05 million in net sales.

The net loss for the April period was $1.53 million, showing improvement over a $39.05 million March net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents were $185,697 on April 27, compared with negative $317,557 on March 30.

Advanced Marketing, a San Diego-based provider of customized merchandising, wholesaling and contract distribution services, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 29, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-11480.
