Moody’s changes views on Korean securities firms

Moody’s Investors Service said it revised the outlook to stable from under review for four Korean securities firms and confirmed their ratings.

The four securities firms are KB Securities Co., Ltd., NH Investment & Securities Co., Ltd., Samsung Securities Co., Ltd. and Shinhan Investment Corp. “The stable outlook reflects our expectation its risk appetite, funding and liquidity profiles will not deteriorate further in the coming 12-18 months,” Moody’s said in a press release.

Moody’s also changed the outlook on Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. to negative from ratings under review. “The negative outlook on Korea Investment & Securities reflects uncertainties around the sustainability and effectiveness of de-risking measures taken by the firm,” Moody’s said.

This concludes the review for downgrade on these securities firms started on April 7, the agency said.
