Fitch ups Costa Rican banks

Fitch Ratings upgraded five Costa Rican banks and one Panamanian bank following the upgrades of Costa Rica's long-term foreign and local currency issuer default ratings to BB from BB-.

Fitch said it upgraded Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, Banco de Costa Rica, Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal, Banco Internacional de Costa Rica, SA to BB from BB-. It also raised Banco BAC San Jose, SA and Banco Davivienda, SA to BB+ from BB.

The outlook is stable.
