S&P assigns BBB to Engie notes

S&P said it assigned a BBB rating to Engie Energia Chile SA’s proposed offering of up to $400 million of senior unsecured notes due 2030. The company will use the proceeds to cancel the $400 million senior debt due 2021.

“In our view, the company is taking advantage of favorable market conditions to extend the tenor of its debt through the proposed senior unsecured bullet notes issuance,” the agency said in a press release.

S&P affirmed the BBB ratings on Engie and its senior debt. The outlook is stable.
