Moody's flips Kyushu Electric view to negative

Moody's Investors Service said it changed Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc.'s outlook to negative from stable.

"The change in Kyushu Electric's outlook to negative reflects our view that weak profits from competition and debt-financed investments for decarbonization will depress its credit quality over the next 12 to 18 months," said Yukiko Asanuma, a Moody's analyst, in a press release.

The agency also affirmed Kyushu Electric’s A3 senior secured bond ratings, the (P)A3 senior secured rating on its shelf registration and the (P)Baa2 rating on its subordinated shelf registration.
