S&P rates Shinhan Investment A-

S&P said it assigned an A- long-term and A-2 short-term local- and foreign-currency issuer credit ratings to Shinhan Investment Corp.

The outlook is stable.

The rating reflects a view that the company remains integral to Shinhan Financial Group, S&P said.

The agency said it views the company as a core subsidiary of the group, therefore equalizes the rating on Shinhan Investment with the group's A- unsupported group credit profile, which excludes potential government support.

Shinhan Investment carries out several group-wide strategies, including the global investment banking operations, where capabilities from several group subsidiaries are managed under the company, S&P said.

Shinhan Financial Group is strengthening its non-banking operations, especially its capital markets offerings, to improve cross-selling opportunities and diversify revenue streams for the group, the agency added.
