GreenTech Automotive dismissal hearing put off; possible plan in works

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 4 – A hearing on dismissal of GreenTech Automotive, Inc.’s bankruptcy cases has been continued, according to an order filed June 4 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The court said it will hold a status conference on June 15, the previously scheduled date for the dismissal hearing, to set the new hearing date.

The company asked the court to postpone the hearing to July 24 from June 15, but the order said that will most likely not be the new hearing date because the dismissal motion will require a day-long evidentiary hearing.

According to the company’s June 1 continuance motion, GreenTech exchanged information in connection with a proposed Chapter 11 plan, and the case parties “have agreed that it is in their mutual best interests to allow time for the proposed plan to be developed by the debtors’ professionals and presented to the various constituencies in these cases for evaluation.”

GreenTech is a Sterling, Va.-based electric vehicle manufacturer. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 26 under Chapter 11 case number 18-10651.
