By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Savannah, Ga., March 7 - Blockbuster Inc.'s U.S. Trustee plans to ask the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to convert the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case to Chapter 7, according to a Friday filing.

U.S. Trustee Tracy Hope Davis plans to make the motion before the court on March 10 or as soon after as possible, according to the filing.

Blockbuster, a Dallas-based provider of in-home movies and game entertainment, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 23. Its Chapter 11 case number is 10-14997.
