Blockbuster gets OK to continue closing stores, selling inventory

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 20 - Blockbuster Inc. was granted approval to continue to store closing sales, bulk inventory sales and store closing procedures, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

As previously reported, a group of Blockbuster landlords objected to the company's motion to continue to conduct store closing and bulk inventory sales.

Blockbuster, a Dallas-based provider of in-home movies and game entertainment, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 23. Its Chapter 11 case number is 10-14997.
