Bestwall seeks four-month exclusivity extension, cites complexities

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 6 – Bestwall LLC is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend its exclusive plan-filing period through Nov. 6 from July 6 and the solicitation period through Jan. 7 from Sept. 7.

“Despite the progress to date, this case is still in its relatively early stages,” Bestwall said in the motion.

“Given the magnitude and complexity of the issues presented by this case, more time will be needed for the debtor to continue negotiations and pursue a resolution of this case,” the motion said.

Bestwall, an affiliate of Atlanta-based pulp and paper company Georgia Pacific, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 2, 2017. Bestwall’s Chapter 11 case number is 17-31795.
