Moody’s acts on U.K. banks

Moody’s Investors Service said it took action on four United Kingdom-based banks.

The agency downgraded the long-term issuer and senior unsecured debt ratings of HSBC Bank plc, HSBC UK Bank plc, Lloyds Bank plc and Santander UK plc and changed the outlook on these ratings to stable from negative.

Moody’s cut issuer and senior unsecured ratings of HSBC Bank, HSBC UK, Lloyds and Santander UK to A1 with stable outlooks from Aa3 with negative outlooks.

Friday’s downgrade of the U.K.’s sovereign rating debt rating drove the actions, Moody’s said.
