BlackRock files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 11 - BlackRock, Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, preferred stock, common stock, warrants, subscription rights, stock purchase contracts and stock purchase units. Securities may be convertible.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

BlackRock is a New York-based investment fund.
