By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., July 9 - Blackbaud, Inc. completed its acquisition of Kintera, Inc. for $1.12 per share, or approximately $46 million, it was announced on Wednesday.

Kintera, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Blackbaud, will continue to be led by current president and chief executive officer Richard LaBarbera.

"The addition of Kintera's expertise in SaaS and donor acquisition to Blackbaud's leadership in donor cultivation and engagement is very exciting for us and for the nonprofit sector as a whole," Blackbaud CEO Marc Chardon said in a company news release.

Blackbaud said it will support all of Kintera's current offerings, including Kintera Sphere, Kintera FundWare, Kintera P!N Electronic Screening, Kintera Connect and Kintera GivingFund.

Kintera is a San Diego-based content management software developer.

Blackbaud, located Charleston, S.C., specializes in software, such as the Raiser's Edge, and services for nonprofit organizations.
